Good Old Neon.

There is roughly one week until we fly to Europe, and life is in pieces. I'm sleeping in a guest room at an acquaintance's house, and while it is nearly a perfect reprieve from the recent US tour debacle, I can't totally distance myself from the sinking sense that I'm a house guest at Terry Melcher's old place circa '69. Time will tell.

UPDATE:

We are in Europe, and all is well. I am driving the van about, and it is semi-terrifying. Things are pretty great otherwise, however.

Anyway.

We said our goodbyes to that fab foursome Evangelicals the other night. Great band, great men. Todd made us all friendship bracelets.

Semi-rhetorical question: is it better to live a life consumed with guilt or with shame?

Also, ENTANGLEMENTS IS NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL. After every conceivable delay and associated excuse the pressing plant could possibly conceive of, we've FINALLY received copies of Entanglements on vinyl. And they're fucking beautiful. White vinyl, printed dust sleeve, first-run-only labels (they got the color wrong). Get 'em while they're hot from Slender Means Society (in North America) and Tomlab (elsewhere).

(Also: check out the "A Song For Ellie Greenwich" single over at Tomlab as well--featuring the exclusive track "Afterwords"--a tangental continuation of the apparently inscrutable narrative of the record).

Oh right, Europe:

my vinyl copy of entanglements arrived the week before last and indeed, it is almost stupidly beautiful. a fitting aesthetic for the collection of songs, for sure.

(shame)

Is there any merch available at the EU shows?

And most importantly, what's happening with the Gothenburg show? Any news on where you'll be playing?

I obviously need to order that single. Fantastic.

I think I would side with KRS and say shame. Is the single going to be available in stores?

ARE YOU GONNA PLAY IN CHICAGO!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!!?

Posted by: Mel at November 2, 2008 08:40 PM

I would also choose a life of shame; seems less burdensome.

Is the title of this post a reference to the David Foster Wallace story? I hope so. That is one of the only short stories I'd go out on a limb to label as being perfect.

You were fantastic in London. I was slightly too drunk when buying CDs to mention it though.

U.S. Tour afterwards?
I hope so.
